8 to July 10 was held in Granada El Encuentro Solar 2005. This meeting provided an opportunity to get close to the solar energy technology. The three days include lectures, exhibitions, workshops, an introduction to renewable energy and evening dinners and concerts. Conclusions
Encuentro Solar 2005:
Spain could happen in 30 or 40 years from being an importer of energy to be exporter if exploited the potential offered by renewable energy sources like solar or Wind, currently being wasted. This was stated yesterday by the expert Harry Lehmann German director of the Energy Efficiency Agency and, among other projects, has designed the stage for countries like Japan or Spain can operate entirely with renewable energy.
Lehmann, who participated in the IX Encuentro Solar from Friday hosts the Science Park of Granada, said it is possible to produce enough energy from renewable sources to feed an industrialized country like Spain, Japan or Germany, for what he said that, at least, it takes 50 years. "We need to do now or in several decades" because, he said, there are reasons to do weather and because oil, as well as finished other fossil fuels, has risen to 60 euros a barrel. He said that currently the technology already exists and all it takes is introduced into the system and mentalizing experts and architects to make homes energy efficient. "In Germany, which has less sunshine than Spain, it is now possible to build houses that are available in 80 or 90% renewable energy," said Lehmann.
He noted that Spain would "do more" because it has "great potential" and said it could become 30 to 40 years in an energy exporting country by taking advantage of what is in energy solar or wind energy, among others. Lehmann explained that what we want in Europe is that in 2010 12% of energy from renewables, percentage in 2020 is to increase to 20% and in 2030, to 40%. The expert described these objectives "conservative" because it would be easy in 2050 to 70% of the energy produced by the EU were renewed.
